Board of Trustees
The USD #257 Board of Education serves a dual role as Trustee of the Bowlus Trust. This unique relationship was defined within the will of Thomas H. Bowlus and has been in place since 1961 prior to construction of the fine arts center.

Bowlus Commission
In the late 1980's, from the recommendation of the Bowlus Task Force, the Bowlus Commission was formed as an advisory board to the Trustees. The Bowlus Commission meets monthly with the Executive Director regarding management issues and provides their advisory consent for any agenda item the Trustee's must officially vote on regarding policies, finances, maintenance, and operations of the Bowlus.
